Who writes our guides
Every guide on eLitigant is written by the eLitigant Editorial Team. We do one thing: explain court forms and procedures in plain English, so you can handle them yourself with confidence. At eLitigant we love nothing more than a good old document filled out correctly.
How every guide is checked
Before a guide is published, we check it against:
- the current official GOV.UK version of the form it covers;
- the current court fee schedules; and
- the Civil Procedure Rules and Practice Directions that apply.
Each guide is then reviewed by the Founder of eLitigant CIC Our guides are shaped by first-hand experience of preparing court documents as a litigant in person — we know exactly where these forms go wrong, because we have stood where our readers stand. That first-hand experience of completing these forms, paying these fees and meeting these deadlines is built into every page.
How often we review
Forms, fees and rules change. That is why every guide carries a Last reviewed date, so you can see when we last checked it against the official sources. When a form is revised or a fee changes, we update the guide.
Spotted something wrong?
If you find an error — a fee that has changed, a form that has been revised, a link that is out of date — email hello@elitigant.com. We will check it against the official source and put it right. No mess, no drama — simply delivered.
Crown copyright and the Open Government Licence
Our guides reference and link to official forms and guidance published on GOV.UK. That material is Crown copyright and is reused under the Open Government Licence v3.0. The forms themselves always belong to HM Courts & Tribunals Service — our job is to help you complete them properly.
